First task was to completely disassemble the car starting with pulling the old straight 8 "Valve in Head" engine in early October 2006.

Once the frame is stripped it goes on the rotisserie to facilitate removing the cross members, boxing it, and welding in the new cross members.

One of the hardest jobs was removing the rivets that held the old cross members in place. All those shiny spots on the side of the frame are where the rivets were. You can see the frame is now boxed

Here's a shot showing the cross members, the front suspension mounts, the master cylinder, and the motor mounts in place. It's November 26, 2006.

By mid December the frame has been strengthened, the new front suspension and motor mounts welded in, the SS exhaust run past the mufflers, and the SS gas tank installed. Next up - mount the body to see how it fits.

It's now February 21, 2007. The frame has been powder coated, all of the running gear is installed, the brake lines are plumbed and the exhaust system is finished.

By the middle of March the frame was completely done. Here it's on the trailer at the body shop ready to accept the newly painted body.

Ignore the old fart on the left. This shot shows the "modern" instruments and controls mounted above the windshield including AC, stereo, and cruise.

And finally, just to show it's a "driver" my grandson Kenny and I were on our way to Michigan in June 2010 when we hit a blizzard crossing the Continental Divide.
